Lecture, Workshop and Swamp EventsWith Clyde and Niki Butcher
Recent events with Clyde and Niki Butcher during our exhibition of Clyde's photographs Across America included a lecture and presentation by Clyde, a student workshop and a convesation with Niki and Clyde at their studio in the Big Cypress Preserve. Clyde's lecture at our opening reception recounted personal anecdotes of his and Niki's adventures criss-crossing the country as they photographed the drama of our great open spaces and national parks.
Clyde and Niki's intimate convesation was held at their Everglades studio between Miami and Naples. They gave us a personal history of the path that has led them to their photographic work and their active involvement in the conservation movement and the environment.
The workshop for art students introduced Clyde's "Photoshop made simple" concepts. His showed by example how to use his simple step by step process in Photoshop to quickly and easily get top results. His invaluable techniques save a ton of time and are available in a new instructional DVD produced by award winning PBS cinematographer Elam Stoltzfus. DVD's are available for purchase at the gallery.
